Starting the New Year with Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra allows us to create space in the body and in the mind inviting deep relaxation, rest, and an inner journey. These practices aid in relieving stress and anxiety, restoring energy, finding clarity, and balancing the physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
In this two hour workshop we will begin with gentle restorative yoga in which each pose is held for an extended amount of time so that your body can ease into the posture, gradually releasing tension. Live music and sound healing will help you to explore the stillness. Essential oils with gentle hands-on adjustments may be given during this time to enhance relaxation. The workshop will end with Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practiced while lying down in Savasana.
In Yoga Nidra you will be guided to a state where the body is asleep but the mind remains awake (the hypnogogic state) in which we have more access to our subtle bodies, and our subconscious and unconscious mind, promoting concentration, creativity, clarity, and deep relaxation, relieving all forms of stress and tension. Finally the Yoga Nidra will culminate in a Gong Bath leaving us calm, clear, and focused.
